Tessa Hartmann

I’m a New York based animator and artist who specializes in dynamic rough animation. Until I started my degree, I was more or less entirely self-taught and learned my craft from comic books- if you look hard enough, you can probably spot the Archie Sonic The Hedgehog run in how I approach extreme perspective and sharp, iconographic character design.  Recently, I’ve become very interested in the illustrative qualities of light and environments. In lack of a big studio space to create in, I’ve taken to digital painting and some composite 3D work to explore this kind of work. When I’m not busy with creative work, I’m usually kicking back with a book or a game, or prepping for my next D&D session. I’m also experienced with ToonBoom
